Petru Florin Mihancea graduated in 1998 "Emanuil Gojdu" Highschool from Oradea, Romania. In the same year
he started his engineer studies as a student of the Faculty of Automation
and Computers, "Politehnica" University of Timisoara, Romania.
In 2002 he received the Best Software Engineer Award at the first
LOOSE (Laboratory of Object-Oriented Software Engineering) competition and
he was invited to join the LOOSE Research Group, a research group focused on object-oriented reengineering and quality assurance.
Based on his work as a LRG member, he prepared his diploma, master and Ph.D. theses. He received in 2003 his Diploma-Engineer
title in Computer Science and Engineering, and in 2004 his M.S. In December 2009, under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Ioan
Jurca, he defended his Ph.D. thesis (Cum Laude Honors).
He is affiliated with the Department of Computer Science and Engineering at the "Politehnica" University where he is responsible for the
Laboratory of Object-Oriented Programming and for the Laboratory of Software Engineering Foundations.
He published 12 papers in national and international conferences and workshops on object-oriented design analysis, comprehension,
quality assurance and re-engineering.
